Peanut Butter Cup Fudge with Salted Bourbon Sugar

Full disclosure: This recipe used pretty much exactly from HalfBaked Harvest because it sounded so good!

Second peanut butter recipe in as many weeks, which is really unusual for me, as I am not really a PB fan. Well, ok, not a peanut butter on bread with jam (or anything else for that matter) fan, but once you pair it with chocolate … well, I am all over that, which is why I like this recipe. Super yummy. It is, however, really rich, so maybe just eat one piece at a time. OK, maybe two.

Almond Spice Breakfast Swirls

Last of the experiments before the big Christmas Day feast, and another breakfast thing to boot. There are a number of breakfast swirls / cinnamon buns on this site, so this time I focused on almond in addition to the spice. Again, turned out lovely and light. Serve them right out of the oven for an amazing Christmas treat!

Walnut Streusel Bread

Here’s a recipe for those people who want to make something special for a holiday (or run of the mill too) breakfast, but won’t wan to spend a lot of time fussing about in the kitchen. All told, this recipe only takes about 20 minutes or prep and an hour of baking. Start to finish in under 90 minutes. Walnut-y (can be subbed with pecans or even cashews) and cinnamon-y, but not too overwhelming. A Coffee-cake, but not really. At any rate, it’s yummy, nearly fool proof and pretty quick.

PS: fills a standard 9 x 5 inch loaf pan (my pan was a little bigger, which is why it doesn’t fill up). You could also make two smaller loaves. This Walnut Streusel Bread also freezes well.

Cinnamon Cranberry Walnut Granola Bars

Things have been a little quiet on the blogging front these days, but I have been hard at work in the kitchen. Tis the season (at least for me) to work on the masses of Christmas cookies that I make. More on that later. For now, I thought that I would sneak in a quick recipe for something healthy and fall like, and good to kep the munchies at bay while you are doing all your holiday food prep. These granola bars are great — very harvest like. Yummy.

Peanut Butter and Fudge Swirl “Moose Tracks” Cookies

Moose Track Cookies. I’m not sure exactly why I was enticed to make these. It’s turned to autumn here in the Northeast, and with that, all the pretty leaves. That makes me think of Maine (here I come next two weekends!), and somehow the fall makes me think of moose too. And Maine makes me think of Gifford’s Ice Cream. They have a Moose Tracks Ice cream that these cookies are sort of modeled after: vanilla with fudge swirl and chopped up peanut butter cups. I think other brands have this flavor too. This is a very stream of conscious type of post, but that is how it goes. Happy moose (track) watching.
