Honey Glazed Mixed Nuts with Chinese Five Spice

Another little treat that works well as a snack while you’re waiting for the Thanksgiving turkey to come out of the oven, or while watching the ever-present footballs games, or even looking for a midnight snack. These Honey Glazed Mixed Nuts with Chinese Five Spice are sweet, savory, and salty, very sticky and totally delicious. And nut combo will do, but I went with almonds, cashews and pecans. Yummy.

Cinnamon and Cinnamon Chip Rice Krispies Treats

Something other than cookie! It’s November, so I am in the middle of baking all my cookies for the annual Cookie Madness, but decided that I wanted to make something different this week to snack on. So I made Rice Krispies Squares. Only I added cinnamon and cinnamon chips. Ooh, and these have a trick for staying softer for longer: I added condensed milk. Great flavor. Nice snack.

Cranberry Black Currant Apple and Ginger Chutney

Sauce”. I like to experiment with different sauces and chutneys to accompany the big turkey on the day. This year, I made the chutney variation a little earlier than usual, while I still had time. So here you go: Cranberry Black Currant Apple and Ginger Chutney. It’s very hearty and a little different than your standard “out of the can” or “recipe on the back of the cranberry bag” but I think that it is really lovely.
