Tropical Trail Mix (not your average GORP)

GORP, as one theory goes, is “good old raisins and peanuts”. Well, this GORP ain’t no regular stuff then because this trail mix is chock full of tropical fruit and nuts. I’m a big fan of trail mix and almost always make it myself. I do a lot of road trips in the summer, and it’s better than having to stop for junk food. The dried mango is particularly yummy. All the fruit and nuts are from Trader Joes, because they have the best!

Ingredients
3 cups toasted, unsalted cashews
2 cups toasted, unsalted almonds
1 cup dried mango
1 cup banana chips
2 cups toasted sweetened coconut flakes (larger flake, if you can find it)
1 cup chocolate covered sunflower seeds
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions
If you have self-toasted your nuts, make sure that they are completely cooled. If you dried mango is still whole, make sure to chop to quarter to half inch pieces.

In a large bowl, combine all the nuts, fruits, sunflower seeds and salt. Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks (though it won’t last you that long!)
