One of my guilty pleasures is Guacamole. OK, it could be worse — avocado is good for you right? — but I could eat it by the bucket. On Toaste. On potatoes. As salad dressing. On a burger. Whole Foods makes some yummy stuff (which I buy and freeze — that works surprisingly well — but when I go make it myself, here is the recipe.

Comfort food. In the winter, sometimes you just need a good bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup, right? Well, I decided to put a little bit of a twist on the classic, adding some spices that add even more warming properties: garlic, ginger, turmeric and black pepper. And it’s a “cheater” recipe as I used a store-bought rotisserie chicken to make it easy on me. For the noodles, I used udon and I added carrots, red pepper and Swiss chard for color. One of the best soups (or is it a stew?) that I have ever made.
Today’s foodie theme is a Superbowl Challenge! I decided to come up with two savory and two sweet things that symbolize the (Northeast) New England Patriots and the (So Cal) Los Angeles Rams. Thiis wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be because … well, evidently I know very little about what is “typical” food in LA. For the “savory component for The Southern Left Coast, I decided to go with Fish Tacos with Quick Pickled Toppings, Cabbage, Avocado and Cilantro. Yummy but a total pain in the neck to eat!
