OK, it’s almost New Year’s Eve and someone invites you to a party. You need a quick and easy thing to bring along. Voila! This dip! Bacon. Cheese and more cheese. A little bit of salsa. And did I mention the bacon. Dip in crackers or tortilla chips. Serve Warm if you can, but also works at room temperature. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup store-bought jarred salsa (spicy level up to you; I used medium)
1 small tomato, diced
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded jalapeño jack cheese
1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
sliced green onions, for topping
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F.
In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, chili powder, salt, pepper and salsa. Spread mixture into an ungreased 9-inch pie pan (or similar size baking dish) and top shredded cheese and half the crumbled bacon. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Remove from oven and serve in the dish. You can also scrape the entire heated through mixture into a min-crock pot to keep warm. If serving warm, sprinkle on the remaining bacon, the diced tomato and sliced green onions. If you are serving this cold, just prepare according to the directions and cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator until ready to serve.
