The other day, I bought this amazing green (of course) mini-bundt pan from Ten Hands Pottery on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/TenHandsPottery). It arrived late last week and the very first thing I thought was what to make — and came up with this recipe for a Hazelnut Chocolate Red Currant Bundt. It was a riff on my standard pound cake recipe, so I wasn’t sure that it would come out as planned, but it’s delicious. And it photographs well in the lovely pan.

Pie for breakfast? I maybe posting this in the morning, but it was actually dessert last night — Browned Butter Maine Maple Kentucky Bourbon As American as Apple Pie. Complex but somehow very simple. Neither the maple nor the bourbon took center stage. For once, my lattice top didn’t crack. Overall, very pleased.
More strawberries! And more crumble bars. These really are my “go to” thing when I need something quick and delicious, minimal effort, maximum output. And it helps if you just went strawberry picking an have homemade jam. This variety also has a bit of lemon zest in the shortbread and believe it or not, a little bit of thyme. No, it doesn’t taste “herby” though. 🙂
