It’s been three weeks since I baked anything. That might be a recent record. Admittedly, two of those three weeks, I was traveling, but nevertheless, it feels like I am going through withdrawals. That said, there is a lot on the agenda for the next few weeks, so I thought I would get into the swing of things with these easy but delicious blondies. Bourbon, pecans and white chocolate: very yummy!
cookies
It’s been a while since I made crumble bars. For a long time now, they have been my “go to” thing to make, to eat “out of hand” (meaning cookie or brownie-sized). They are so versitile: pick a fruit flavor, pick a nut or chocolate type and voila! Crumble bars just waiting to be taken to your next pot-luck!
I swear these cookies taste much more interesting then they look. As I was photographing them, I noticed just how …. monochrome is the best word …. they are. They are delicious, with those new-ish sea salt caramel chip from Hershey, but those are beige as well and blend right into the oatmeal cookie. Trust me, they are super yummy!
Warning: Potholes!! Cupcakes
(Chocolate Cupcakes with Oreo Cocoa Buttercream Frosting)
And now for something completely different: Not Easter, but Pothole Cupcakes! The roads are so rutted up here in the Bangor, Maine area that I was inspired to make these cupcakes as a bit of a joke. And I brought them over to the Bangor Maine Police Department as an excuse to visit the Duck of Justice. Fun times!
I will be the first to admit that the idea for making fried egg linzer cookies for Easter was not my idea. It came from Flour Bakery + Cafe, but I loved it, and I make Linzer Cookies so often that I thought I would add these to the website. They are fresh, pretty and very spring-like…. and make me feel like having breakfast. Perfect addition to Easter Baskets!
