Right then, I had one more sweet thing to make for St. Patrick’s Day 2023, and here it is. Leprechaun Balls !!! Get your mind out of the gutter, they are just homemade truffles/chocolates with a healthy dose of Jameson Whiskey. They are rather amusing to me, so I will continue to call them Leprechaun Balls, and try not to choke on them as I eat said Leprechaun Balls. đŸ™‚

Another little St. Patrick’s Day Treat. I am not normally one to use a lot of food coloring, but made an exception today, so here we are — browned butter and almond with a dark chocolate Hersey’s kiss. The recipe makes quite a few cookies but it can he halved in case you don’t need so many. Cheerful, happy little cookies — emerald blossoms next to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. (or something stereotypical like that).
I thought I’d make a couple of things for St. Patrick’s Day. And sort of like most holidays, I am just making these because it’s a sweet treat and I felt like it, not because they are particularly Irish or Irish-American for that matter. These “Irish Cream “Faux-reos” Sandwich Cookies are Oreo-style Chocolate Sandwich Cookies with Bailey’s Filling, and how can you really go wrong with that.
As every year, here is the Valentine’s Day Cookie Collection. I might have gone a little overboard this year, with 5 varieties, but I had the time and energy for once so here we go. Happy Valentine’s Day!
The varieties are:
Oreo-style Sandwich Cookies
Raspberry Almond Linzer Cookies
Red Velvet Non-Pareil Cookies
Espresso Chocolate M&M Cookies and
Lemon-Hibiscus Swirl Cookies
One more year! Today is the 12th birthday (I have a Tween!) of the Cup of Sugar :: Pinch of Salt website. No, not my (the human) birthday but the anniversary of when I started the virtual recipe collection (the website). It was a cold day in January 2011 that someone suggested that I start putting all my recipe ideas and pictures in one place and a few weeks later, the site was born. Twelve years and 2680 recipes, I am still at it. I didn’t think that was possible, or even likely but here we are. What’s to come, I don’t know, but you know where to find me — in my kitchen!
