Lemon Rosemary Zucchini Bread

While this recipe isn’t necessarily Christmas-y, here I am making it making it as part of a Christmas Gift Basket. Not surprising, most of the things that I give for Christmas (besides The Cookies … capital T, capital C) are food or food related. Spiced Maple Roasted Mixed Nuts

Looking for a few ideas for homemade stocking stuffers? You’ve come to the right place. Here is the first of a few, my twist on your standard holiday roasted nuts. There is no *one* recipe for obatzda and certainly no right or wrong recipe. Some people add a bit of horseradish, some people a few tablespoons of beer. If you can’t find quark, some people use cream cheese mixed with a bit of sour cream. All work well.

It’s Summertime. Biergärten. Beer, obatzda and brezn. What I miss about Munich.

Chipotle and Rosemary Roasted Nuts

I know that a lot of people associated roasted nuts more as a winter thing, but I had an urge to make some, and figured they go just as well with a couple of beers on the back porch as they do at Christmas time. These are smokey and sweet, and not too spicy. Just enough to keep you thirsty — and grabbing a few more — but not overly hot, salty or sweet to any extreme. Try ‘am, you’ll like ’em.

PS: you can use any combination of nuts that you like. I particularly like this combo and ratio, but whatever floats your boat.
