Over the weekend, I had a slight mishap with a champagne bottle that resulted in a trip to the ER, a chipped tooth, stitches and well … general unpleasantness. Someone suggested a “commemorative recipe” so never one to put too much seriousness into my experiments, I made up this cocktail recipe. And yes, I wore protective gear. 🙂
Ingredients
1/2 cup fresh blueberries (reserve a few to garnish)
1/2 cup fresh blackberries (reserve a few to garnish)
1/3 cup sugar
1 ounce blueberry vodka
top with Champagne or Sparkling Wine
mint to garnish (optional)
Directions
In your food processor or blender, pulse the berries with the sugar until very smooth. In a chilled glass of your choice (I used a martini glass, but a champagne flute would work just as well), spoon 2 ounces (4 tablespoons) berry puree and add once ounce of the blueberry vodka. Top with champagne or sparkling wine, garnish with berries and mint, and serve immediately.
