About The CSPS Girl

“Find something you’re passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it.”
― Julia Child

I haven’t always been a baker. Or even a cook. It wasn’t until about 6 years ago that I fell in love with my kitchen, but since then it has been a love affair that has been passionate and hopefully never-ending. I come from a family of people who love food, and I think that that has helped piqué my interest. My Opa on my Mum’s side was a Bäckermeister in the Black Forest. My father forages for mushrooms in the woods of Maine, something he learned growing up in Germany as well. I love to experiment. I love to taste. I love to share. I spend far too much money on ingredients and plates and cookbooks and camera equipment. I have quail eggs and lots of stinky cheese in my refrigerator. I often dream in recipes. All my fan-girl crushes are on chefs (none of them celebrity chefs though). And most of all, there is a good chance that Julia Child and America’s Test Kitchen saved my life. Yeah, that’s a story over a glass of wine. Or five.

CSPS is not a business. I don’t care about search engine rankings or “conversion results” or “increase in sales” (I’m not selling anything!) My site may not be perfect, and I use this site to also teach myself something about website design and to improve my tech skills, so I know there is always work to do, but I am here to do it myself.

And as Julia always said, “Bon Appetit!”
